You can buy by the pound or just a piece here and there. They'll tell you they specialize in Marzipan coated chocolate and chocolate covered marshmallows. 'wichcraft

Posted by EatSomeSweets on Monday, January 17, 2011,
Here is a place created by a well known chef, without the $$$ prices and with multiple locations throughout the city. Thanks Mr. Colicchio for bringing us 'wichcraft with your business partners.  While we make no claims for their savory items, there is one dessert that is absolutely scrumdiddlyumptious; it's on the internets so it must be a word. 'wichcraft has a Lemon Poppyseed cookie filled with fruit preserves. The cookie sampled on two separate occasions was filled with raspberry and fort...

Let's say you are around 8th st in the village and it is 1 A.M., you are craving something sweet, oh what to do?  Luckily, Insomnia Cookies is here to rescue you and answer your call. There are about five different types at any given time, which is great because you rarely have to wait to get that warm delicious goodness. Francois Payard Bakery

Posted by EatSomeSweets on Sunday, September 26, 2010,
If your idea of sweets is a delicious croissant, brioche or pain au chocolat then you need to pay a visit to FPBNYC. If you're more the type to eat an eclair (btw, not many places have them), a fresh fruit tart or a Le Gateau (try the hazelnut) then this is the place for you. It is not a chocolate shop like his UES location, it is a bakery and a nice addition to the Francois Payard sweet tooth arsenal.

Hummus Place

Posted by EatSomeSweets on Tuesday, September 21, 2010,
There are multiple locations around the city, but something about this location makes the food taste better.  Could if be the intimacy of the place??  Which ever location you are at you must, must, must try the Kadaif. The base of Kadaif is similar to shredded wheat, which is topped with warm honey and then a sweet ricotta cheese. How many satisfying light and sweet desserts do you know?

Life Thyme Market

Posted by EatSomeSweets on Tuesday, September 21, 2010,
Life Thyme Market perhaps has the largest variety of Vegan Desserts in NYC. Don't be scared with Vegan Desserts. If it's made well you'd never know they were special. They have a Banana Cream Square where it tastes like real banana (it is). A Pumpkin Spice Cake that will have you asking, why have I been eating anything else? Yes, basically vegan desserts will satisfy you.

Pop Bar

Posted by EatSomeSweets on Saturday, September 11, 2010,
A little taste of Italy can be found in the US and since we love to eat things on a stick it will be a sheer joy to eat at Pop Bar.  They have some of the creamiest Gelato this side of the pond. It truly is fun to eat because remember Americans love food on a stick. The flavors range from dark chocolate to fruits and all are delicious with or without being dipped in their chocolate sauce.

Pasticceria Rocco

Posted by EatSomeSweets on Saturday, September 11, 2010,
It is the humble opinion of this site that Rocco's has the best cannoli in Manhattan. It is not always nice to talk about others, but the service can be well, a little slow. It will soon be forgotten with the first crunch of the cannoli shell. They have plenty of other fresh Italian desserts to choose from if a cannoli is not your thing.

Amy's Bread

Posted by EatSomeSweets on Saturday, September 11, 2010,
If you haven't been, do not turn away from the name. They have some of the finest walking sweets on the west side. Which means, you can take something to go and eat it right out of the bag. People will see the bag and know you have good taste, without knowing what is in the bag. Too many places that have Blondies, don't make them correctly... Amy's bread sure does. They have brownies, cookies, cupcakes and slices of cake.  There is a Monkey Cake aka Hummingbird Cake with banana, pineapple, pe...

Max Brenner

If Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory actually existed, it could be called Max Brenner.  It is the mecca of milk chocolate in NYC.

Cakes & Shake

Posted by EatSomeSweets on Wednesday, August 25, 2010,
Okay, cupcakes are here to stay and we have Cakes and Shake to thank for giving them new life.  Not your ordinary vanilla or chocolate here folks. I am talking a Banana Cupcake w/ Carmel Frosting. OH?  How about an Orange and Fig Cupcake with Cream Cheese Frosting topped with Toasted Walnuts?  Do I have your attention now? They are located on the south side of Washington Sq. Park.
